| peadefense.text | The dissertation is the result of a competent research work. Research questions are relevant both from scientific and policy points of view. The hypotheses are clear and the level of their discussion is of high standard. The Candidate did a great effort to revise the previous version of the dissertation based on the received comments. She also did an excellent job in collecting and reviewing the appropriate literature which is in itself a relevant contribution of the dissertation. The empirical research is well-designed and the style of the dissertation is excellent. Although it is true that the sample size of the empirical research is small, some quantitative exploratory analysis would have been interesting and important contribution to the results. Despite the comments, the conclusions of the dissertation are reasonable and the dissertation shows an above-average level of scholarship and contribution to the literature. It is also to be noted that the Candidate is unusually sensitive to the limitations of her study. The committee appreciated the well-structured presentation and the Candidate answered the raised questions in a comprehensive and convincing way. Considering all written above, the reviewing committee proposes to approve the dissertation with the rank summa cum laude. |
