Abstract
Collection of Legal Customs and Legal Sociology. On the International Antecedents of Károly Tagányi's Legal Customs’ Collection Program Tagányi's legal customs' collection program is a dense historical overview of international research. The question is rightly raised, what became the fate and afterlife of the research listed in Tagányi's program. At the same time as the first collections of European legal customs, Eugen Ehrlich formulated the concept of living law, with which he founded the science of Legal Sociology. The relationship between Legal Sociology and the legal customs' collections is still determined by the priority debate that developed around the work of Ehrlich and Bogisié. Based on this discussion, the present study shows the present-day evaluation of the legal customs' collections described by Tagányi.
